Here are some great ideas for activities for the kids over the summer holidays:
Summer Brain Games – The Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago has brough back their Summer Brain Games for another year. You don’t need to be a member, you don’t even need to live near Chicago. Every week you get a new STEM activity for your summer enjoyment.
100 Item Book Scavenger Hunt – Instead of reading a certain number of books, or certain kinds of books, kids read all sorts of things as part of a scavenger hunt.
For the younger hacker set, there is DIY. Their motto is “Get Skills. Be Awesome.” There is also a companion iDevice app. It’s a place for kids to share what they do and meet others who love the same things. It’s not just tech; there are badges for Summerologist, Entrepreneur, Botanist, Chef, Fasion Designer and more…
